COVID-19 Update: New Normal   Read News

Recovery Post Vaccination

While we do not know yet what the level and length of the immunity from the vaccination will be, we do know that the symptoms of COVID-19 from the original strain of the virus will be less severe and dangerous for those who have been vaccinated, should they contract the disease.

There are mutated strains of the virus that are being studied for vaccine efficacy. At this point, research is suggesting the possibility of diminished protections, and there is still a risk for significant illness, even for those fully vaccinated. However, now that most of our residents and staff have been vaccinated, we will, with the utmost caution, start to ease our pandemic-related restrictions.

We will still abide by the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), and we will still have to adhere to the state orders and regulatory agencies’ rules.

All residents and staff are to follow the universal prevention measures listed below:

  • Wearing a mask in common spaces, outdoors and during group activities.
  • Maintaining six-foot physical distancing.
  • Staying in one’s townhome or apartment or not coming to work,  if sick or feeling ill.
  • Washing hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (or using hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available).
  • Covering coughs and sneezes.
  • Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Disinfecting surfaces and objects regularly (i.e., counter tops, door handles, telephones, computer keyboards, and TV remote controls).
  • Following all posted protocols.
